Overview

Our Behavioral Health Crisis Team is available at the Day Kimball Hospital Emergency Department 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide expert, compassionate care to individuals of all ages who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis, with assessments performed between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Individuals in crisis may seek these services on their own, or be accompanied by a family member, friend, emergency medical service personnel, or police.

The Behavioral Health Crisis Team is comprised of masters or doctorate prepared, licensed clinicians who are skilled in providing short-term support and stabilization in order to manage the crisis. A dedicated behavioral health wing comprised of five beds in the Emergency Department provides a calmer, safer and private environment for behavioral health patients. Clinicians will also ensure continuity of care by arranging for follow-up services after the initial intervention, which may include inpatient treatment, or referral to our outpatient behavioral health program. Services will also be offered to family members of the individual affected, to ensure a comprehensive approach and continuity of care.
